A total of 119 female university students in Japan participated in this study. The results indicated that most items in the PVST showed good fit to a Rasch model. The items covered the entire ability estimate range from the least able learner to the most able learners. In addition, the PVST showed both good item and person reliability estimates. Furthermore, the result of Rasch principal component analysis implied that the PVST measures a single construct.
